This drum is crafted out of spalted hickory. The term “spalted” refers to the dark streaks throughout the wood. It’s created by a fungal growth and creates some really neat visual characteristics without compromising the integrity of the material. This particular shell has integrated reinforcement ring for added strength and contact area at the edges. The lugs on this shell were built by Allstar.
