This was a fun little project that I built for the high school that I was teaching percussion at. We needed some bamboo wind chimes but were having problems sourcing some locally at the time. I took it upon myself to come up with a solution. Grabbed some 3/4″ red oak dowels from a hardware store and sourced the material for the support bar from what I had laying around in the shop. Did a little research to figure out the math used in the chime lengths and went to work. The result? A fun little set of chimes with a really neat sound (albeit a little quiet and short on the sustain). Enjoy!
